About Padelradar

Why does Padelradar exist?

Searching for tournaments on RankedIn drove me nuts. So I built a tournament calendar the way I always wanted one.

But RankedIn already has a tournament calendar?

It does — but RankedIn's calendar isn't great, and properly filtering by tournament category, gender, dates, weekdays, early birds, location and more just isn't possible. Most of the time you're forced to scroll through dozens of tournaments that are either the wrong category or in the wrong region. On top of that it's not exactly built for a phone, and it's simply a bit clunky. RankedIn is a great platform that covers everything from badminton tournaments in the Netherlands to squash tournaments in Dubai. But that's exactly the problem. RankedIn's tournament calendar isn't built specifically for padel and smartphones. Padelradar's is. Hopefully Padelradar helps you find the right padel tournament faster. ❤️

How does Padelradar work?

A web crawler lists RankedIn's padel tournaments every morning. Tournament names almost always contain everything needed to describe a tournament. An AI agent — which I taught all the different ways padel tournaments are labelled — then builds the tournament's properties from its name. Example: "CUPRA GPS 50/100 H00 || 2. Sporting Padel-Cup in Hamburg" + "From:07/03/2025 to 07/03/2025" becomes:

  • City: Hamburg
  • Region: Hamburg
  • Date: 07/03/2025 - 07/03/2025
  • Weekday: Friday
  • Category: GPS-50, GPS-100
  • Gender: Men
  • Age group: open
  • Early bird: No

That data then powers the filters. The full list of all tournaments shown on Padelradar is publicly available here: All tournaments in Google Sheets

My two cents

I really hope the German Padel Association (DPV) plans to build its own platform tailored to the German padel market. A platform like that is hugely important for a sport as young and fast-growing as padel. Until that happens, maybe Padelradar can help make searching for tournaments a little more pleasant. The "MyBigpoint" disaster we tennis players had to endure for ten years must not repeat itself.
